MIP CHINA: Chinese Majors Are Seeking Coproduction Partners. Hangzhou, May 23-25

China’s appetite for international coproductions is surging after state regulators restricted broadcasters from acquiring international content.

MIP CHINA is the first ever one-to-one partnership forum that that brings together international producers with Chinese companies who are actively seeking copro partners.

  • The format is modeled on the successful BBC Screenings and MIP Cancun events.
  • It will accurately match the international producers and commissioners with their potential Chinese partners, including Internet-based giants like Tencent Video.

Intel China

Intel China’s marketing department is responsible for managing Intel China’s content sponsorship deals for programming in China. They have supported a number of large scale format programs on Hunan TV and other Chinese platforms. They are particularly interested in content that highlights innovation in technology and other areas.

Mindshare

One of the biggest media buyers in China, and a unit of WPP, the world’s largest advertising group. Mindshare is extremely active in bringing brands together with content in China. Major clients include many global brands in China such as NIKE, CHANEL, FORD, MAZDA, IBM, ROLEX, and many more.

Nanjing Broadcasting System is the parent company that operates all of the channels of Nanjing TV. It also operates a number of subsidiaries in production, publishing, radio and other media outlets.

Pepsi

Pepsi, one of the world’s most iconic and recognized consumer brands globally, has sponsored a number of large scale programs such as “ VOICE OF CHINA,” “CHALLENGER ALLIANCE” and many more.

Shanghai Media Group

SMG is one of China’s largest media and cultural conglomerates, with the most complete portfolio of media and related businesses. On the content side, SMG is a leading powerhouse in China in the production of TV and films, animation and documentaries. New media is a top priority.

Sichuan Radio and Television

Sichuan Radio and TV is the provincial television operator for one of China’s largest provinces with a population of around 90 million. Along with its channels, the company operates one of China’s most well-known online video platforms, Panda TV. Tencent Video

Tencent is one of the biggest internet giants in the world. Its operations cover news, social media, video, the Wechat messaging service, games, film and many other fields. Tencent Video is a Top 3 VOD platform in China: more than 20 million users paid for video in 2016. It’s famous for its young and active self-made variety shows, and domestic hit dramas.
